Ce catcheur a, à sa façon, révolutionné le catch Hardcore. Son physique imposant, sa tête de sadique mais surtout sa résistance impressionnante à la douleur lui ont permis de gagner des titres partout à travers le monde. Seule ombre à ce tableau très flatteur, Abdullah n'est pas technique et n'a jamais catché à la WWE. Il n'en reste pas moins une légende de l'Hardcore…

André le géant:

Premier, et seul catcheur français à s'être réellement imposé aux USA. André a marqué toute une génération par ces mimiques et sa gentillesse naturelle. Il a également excellé en tant que Heel. Les matchs comme celui contre Hogan à Wrestlemania 3 sont restés dans la mémoire collective. On peut cependant regretter le manque évident de technique de ce géant au grand cœur.

Wooooo!!!! Quel catcheur ce Ric Flair! Très technique pour un catcheur des années 70/80 (même si il continua à catcher jusqu'en 2008). Flair est 16 fois champion du monde. Il possède plusieurs records à son actif. Il est par exemple le catcheur ayant réuni le plus de monde pour un match (300 000 personnes en 2 jours pour ces matchs contre Inoki). Sans Flair le catch actuel ne serait certainement pas celui que tout le monde connaît. Il contribua et contribue toujours au succès de ce sport spectacle à travers le monde. Bravo M Flair !

Tiger Mask 1:

Comme je les dis plus haut, celui que je considère comme le premier grand High Flyer au Japon est Liger. Cependant, une décennie avant l'avènement de Liger, Tiger Mask semait la panique au japon avec un style assez différent des High Flyer actuels mais déjà révolutionnaire.

Un physique impressionnant pour cette dernière légende notée aujourd'hui. Ivan Pulski, au même titre que Billy Graham (l'un de ces grands rivaux de l'époque) est un ancien bodybuilder et a misé toute sa carrière sur la puissance exceptionnelle qu'il pouvait déployer sur un ring. Malheureusement, pas beaucoup de techniques pour ce Hall of Fame, et un charisme qui ne restera pas dans l'histoire à mes yeux…
